Dress in Blue – Autism Awareness Day

April 2nd, 2017 marks the 9th anniversary of the very first World Autism Awareness Day.

In 2007 this date was declared by the United Nations General Assembly, in order to bring the world’s attention to Autism, a spectrum disorder that affects tens of millions globally. On October 23, 2012, a World Autism Awareness Day bill was passed by members of the House of Commons in Canada which officially recognizes April 2nd as World Autism Awareness Day in Canada.

EJ Sand will recognize World Autism Awareness Day by asking students and staff to dress in blue on Monday, April 3rd, 2017.
