Local author to meet with junior students

Berverly Terrell-Deutsch, author of “Running Scared” is speaking with 29 of our junior students on November 24th. Ms. J. Lundell, our teacher-librarian, is running a book club based on the book which will begin after the author visit.

Ms. Terrell-Deutsch lives on Johnson Street and set her story in a fictitious town, Briarhill, based on Thornhill. Many of the characters, including the protagonist (Gregory) and his friends, live in the townhouse complex at the SE corner of Henderson and Clark, (where many of our students also live).  The fictional school they all attend is Centennial P.S., which is a combination of Woodland and E.J. Sand.

Students will be able to purchase a copy of “Running Scared” after the author visit at a reduced rate.

The first book club meeting will take place on Monday, November 30 at lunch recess.
